Being a family spread across continents brings a special kind of pain being separated for long periods of time but also a sweet, sweet joy when everyone is finally reunited. And that’s what golden years family photography is all about: capturing your significant, once in a lifetime moments.

I’ve known this precious family for much of my adult life; I met Malu on one of my first trips to Brazil. Her brother Leo and his wife Emily have a Brazilian/ American love story similar to ours, were married not long after us, and have kids almost the same age. We live across town from each other so we don’t get together often, but when we do, it’s always a blast! It was my absolute pleasure to have a Golden Years Photography session during Malu and Dilma’s visit to the States and spending precious time with new baby Andrew.
